The Minerals and Gems in Dreamlight Valley are an important part of many quest lines and can be used to make a good amount of Star Coins. However, unlike farming resources, mining resources are more difficult to come across and there is only a slight chance that black mining nodes (without gems poking through) will spawn a gem. In addition to gems, other resources can be found through mining.
Black mining nodes always appear in the same location in each biome and respawn every 5 minutes. Be sure to keep a mining buddy with you to increase the chance of getting gems/resources.
